As much as I'm completely uninterested, it's a smart move - even when the quality is only mediocre, Skylanders sells like crazy. Nintendo could really use something selling like crazy right about now.

I think I missed this, but do the Amiibos have to correspond to the character you want to save to it, or is it just a memory card-style "one size fits all" kind of thing? The answer will change which one I get (or if it's the former, which one I get first).

I think the figures are character specific. I.e. you can't save Mario to Yoshi.
