Once he has gone into a bit more detail for the court, the defense may cross-examine his statement.

Is that cool, your Honorable?

What are the materials depicted in the picture? There is debris still in the crater, you can describe that for us.
What it used to part of, and why it and only it is there would be a start.

Materials in the pictures aaaaaaare... splinters. Plenty. It was a wooden shack, after all, and while wood does burn in a fire these small bits of debris survived the explosion. You've got... ruins, yep, ruins of the shack... that's some good foundations Deep laid if they still survived after that explosion, I've got to make sure to call him to find out who did the contracting...
Am I missing something, your Honorable? Or are we all chill now?

The prosecution and\or witness should also be revealing Barty's supposed actions at this time, really. If they could do so, it'd make for a much more interesting cross-examination. So, give the defense something to pick at, Detective.
Please state some evidence that incriminates Barty enough for the defense to be worried.

A Funyuns box.
Both recovered from the scene, both containing Lil' Barty's prints.
Remember this? Yep, we've found reason to believe the user of the shuriken was what cut the lock. Barty's prints were found on the shuriken, which cut the lock that was keeping anyone who wasn't supposed to be in the bomb shed out, which in turn lends itself to the conclusion Barty was the one who set off the shed. Not to mention he was apprehended by two of the 281st's finest, SW and ZF, while fleeing the crime scene. DP also saw him fleeing the scene as well.
Your honorable, this is some evidence that incriminates Barty enough for the defense to be sweating through their clothes. *two-finger salute wave*

Now, please, defense, cross-examination.

"If it would please the court, your honor. I would rather wait until the prosecution is fully done with this witness. That way I can address each issue as I please."

As you can see your Honor, we have enough reason to believe that the defendant is the one who set off the bomb in the shed.
One more thing, the defendan't prints were found on the shuriken and the box of funyuns.
If the defense would like, he may begin his cross-examination of the witness.
