*growls* okay, the final boss of this game fails on so many damn levels. I swear, Zelda is more of a Fire Trucking boss than he is - her anal bitching about the flute is filling me with the desire to have her play it in a very creative manner.

I thought he was cool. Zelda, as a boss, was kinda stupid.

I think I'm the only person who really enjoys playing the Spirit Flute... Everybody else is like "Oh, it's so hard and it sucks and they should never have put this in the game because it sucks". I think it's incredible. Seriously, in an age where people want games to be more realistic, would you rather PLAY the instrument, or push A and 4 C's (or worse - howl)?

Well...that might be because you are more musically inclined than most of us.

That could be, but what about games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band? People seem to adore those games, particularly those that are NOT musically inclined. And yet, a little mini-game in Spirit Tracks that takes a similar idea and puts it on a DS, and people complain.

The reality of it was that I did like the Spirit Flute too, that is until Zelda came about with her tune at a spot where saving and turning the game off wasn't an option. She made me repeat that part several times over... which was the most irritable part of it all.

While the use of the microphone was innovative, the troubling part was the mere fact that trying to skip notes (like moving from orange to purple) requires you to really take your time so that it doesn't accidentally play the note in the middle. Then there's part when the mic kinda fails to properly pick up, causing a rather stuttered note.

I was really just grumpy last night. Plus, the boss kinda seemed like he was crying on the inside every time Zelda got hit. "Yeah, sure kids, take your time... I've got all day to be coughing up fireballs at you." This image may have been strengthened by how he resets his attack pattern once Zelda gets hit.
