The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask + Graphic Mods
For something fresh and definitely not possible on the original N64 Hardware. To sum it up, you will be changing:
Includes two Cell-shade mods, essentially makes the game look like Wind Waker.
Includes 4 texture mods, these mods attempts to throw some serious detail into the game.
1. Install the graphics plugin(works best with project64). Put the DLLs in both your emulator plugin directory as well as the C:/windows/system32 folder.
2. Open up your emulator and configure it to use the rice plugin.
3. Configure the graphics plugin to "use hires textures if found" (make sure you turn on advanced settings to see the option) There are actually TWO "show advanced settings" options that you have to check. One is for the whole emulator, and the other is for the Rice plugin. make sure they're both checked. Then close the window and open it and the use hires textures option should be there.
4. Extract the files to the plugins directory. It should look something like this:
C:\Program Files\Project64 1.6\Plugin\hires_texture\ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK\...mod contents...
Start the game and enjoy. (instructions also included in the file)
Please note that there are some bugs with these mods, but in the end I think you'll be quite pleased with the end result. They are quite polished if you ask me.
--Changing the rendering method to openGL significantly reduces the load time for supported graphics cards.
--This mod is only useable through PC emulation and probably won't work with console emulators.
--For an emulator, I recommend Project64 although 1964 is supposed to work as well.
For the younger gamers... Reviews of the game:
