It's all too fast for me... I have no idea what happened in that level, and the plot was so abrupt that I had to stop to think about it.

Maybe by playing it I'll get a better grasp on it, but for now, I'm not really into it.

The cinematic was cool... But it's a cinematic. That's the whole point. Plus... 6 minutes long? Seriously? This isn't Xenosaga. The plot doesn't even need to have the subtle nuances of a Mario game.

As for the gameplay... Exploring the town (which I pray to god is more of a "hub" than anything else) looked abysmal, especially talking to the townsfolk. The actual level moved way too fast to appeal to me.

But then, I've never liked Sonic games, so I don't even know why I'm here.

Heres a Post i made on the speedgamers forums a long time ago(Apr 20 2008, 07:51 AM)
QUOTE
OK...since this is coming out on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 i didn't know where to stick it...

NEW FREAKING SONIC GAME WOOOOO. The game will focus on two-dimensional gameplay stages, displayed in 3D, as well as fast, fully-3D stages. Gameplay will seamlessly transition between these two modes. Day and night system will be interduced.
Why you may ask the day and night system... Because they have Pulled a "zelda" and made it when it goes into night sonic turns into a werewolf(nothing new).

WARNING READ BELOW IF YOU WANT TO SPOIL YOURSELF ON THE PLOT.
Dr. Eggman returns as the primary antagonist for Sonic Unleashed. In this installment, he has managed to shatter the planet into pieces(how did he do that), and it is up to Sonic to return the seven broken continents(hence giving the plot of 7 choas emeralds in 7 continents) back to normal by retrieving the Chaos Emeralds and activating their power. The official press release alludes to a new twist to Sonic's abilities; unofficial screenshots, together with the official teaser trailer, indicate that Sonic's progress will be made even more difficult when he develops lycanthropy(transformation into a werewolf), turning him into a werewolf at night.

3D mode

2D Mode

OK ITS NOW SAFE TO READ BELOW

Sega said it will be realeased late 2008 Enjoy :P

Town exploring part has been confirmed to be the hub world, yes.

It's official. Sega did something right with Sonic Unleashed.

http://wii.ign.com/d...wii_111408.html

And those are WII graphics. I thought they were PS3/360 graphics at first. But those are FREAKING WII GRAPHICS. Wow.

Sonic Unleashed actually looks halfway decent at best, saw a commercial for it a while ago. And Sonic R is epic
Can you feel the sunshine + Tails Doll + Super Sonic Racing + other songs is made of win

I really want to like this, but I still have this fear in the back of my mind that reminds me of the other recent entries in the series.

Like Sonic and the Seven Rings? That game annoyed me to no end.

Regardless, while they continually fail at level development in the past games, the music was generally pretty good.

I was mostly referring to the control style. I have a pretty strong dislike for Racing Games.

For the love of god he turns into a werewolf. Sega is stupid.

First Link turns into a wolf, now Sonic. A hedgehog turning into a werewolf.

Hold your weapon, soldier. They may be on to something.

We'll see how the game does before we can bash it to oblivion.

I'm incredibly skeptical of this game. The last Sonic game I enjoyed was SA2B on GCN and that was mostly due to the Chao gardens. I'll rent this maybe, and reserve judgment till then, though.
