As long as they keep the hell away from the 2937694+ other Sonic characters, this might actually turn out good.

Meh... I'll have to see what the premise behind it is. Most of the Sonic games lately haven't been about the giant amounts of excess characters - the games just haven't been that good. The last Sonic game that I liked was Sonic Adventure 2, because of everything that it involved with Chao, races, and a good plot.

Unleashed? No, seriously, "Unleashed?" Unless it deals with copious amounts of Super Sonic throughout majority of the game, they have GOT to rename it.

Images are dead...but I seen them yesterday. Visually, it LOOKS good...but I have been very apprehensive about the direction the series has been taking. Everything after Adventure has just sucked.

The music is crap, but they need to stick as much to the side scrolling as possible. Keep it reminiscent of when the games were actually good.

I agree. As long as they keep away from all of the pieces of trash and crap they put out after the first 3/4 games...they are fine.

Knowing Sonic Team and Sega however...I'm not 100% sure.

Wouldn't hurt if this is on Wii either.

I've never been a big fan of Sonic... I like games with better pacing. In Sonic, I always feel like I'm just flying by half of the secrets because I'm the "fastest being in the universe" and all that. As opposed to Mario or to an even greater degree Metroid (though the games aren't directly comparable), where I can always turn around and look for something that I suspect I have missed. Sure, I can go back and replay the level most times, but I still usually lack the split-second reflexes required anyways.

And, in spite of this, the 3D Sonics are hated for the exact opposite reason: they just don't feel fast. So, maybe Sega will be able to convey a sense of speed, and this will win the hearts of original Sonic fans; I probably won't be impressed either way.

I'd have to agree with that article about... everything. Except that I liked Shadow, but that just happens to be opinion. Everything else is spot on.

Well... the intro looks awesome, but it doesn't make the cut for me.

From the game play videos I can see, the camera still doesn't work properly. I know you can't stop and look around or take a moment to shift the camera, but like Hanz said, they absolutely need to make the camera a side scroller. All of these dynamic angles are what make the game fail for me - I really don't care much for that amazing shot of Sonic's bum, or the wonderful trees in the distance. I want to be able to spot the hole in the rail before tripping on it at mach speed.
