Weirdly, I actually hope it doesn't. The fan community worked so hard and did so well on the fan translation, and an official release would pretty much bury it, both by overwriting it with an official translation and by providing a for-pay version to the english world (the lack of which is the main reason the widespread use of the rom and translation is accepted).
Twilight Princess is also a 2006 release, and getting the HD treatment could def be considered celebrating its anniversary. So maybe the tweets were just misleadingly juxtaposed? On the other hand, her whole Twitter account just disappeared, so maybe it really was a M3 secret and she got smacked with an NDA or something.

Oh, I don't have any doubt the creators themselves would be cool with it, but I still think it'd be a shame if it disappeared after all their hard work. I just find it gives a kinda bleak outlook for fan translation projects if far future releases can totally invalidate years of work; it's pretty discouraging to future projects.
I may be a bit biased though since I don't buy VC games personally.

There's also the fact that sometimes, localization companies actually buy fan translations to use, greatly assisting in actually getting the game over here.
That's probably not gonna happen with Mother 3, but still.
