And Thank God it's not coming out this year. There were lots of tech problems during the show. Overall, I'm glad they finally announced it, but I wasn't blown away by any means.

It was definitely an early version.

They said it worked fine in rehearsal, so maybe it was just wireless interference. But either way, I'm glad they're waiting on it. Maybe some of the people who try it in the Nokia Theater will be able to shed some light on it, since they get to try it out.

Yeah, that's cool.

I hope it doesn't go overboard with motion control stuff.

The look is neat - I didn't see it that well in the conference, but man, is it sweet.

I actually think the graphics look really interesting. I remember being really timid about the Wind Waker graphics being cell-shaded, but this actually a lot more "mature" if you know what I mean. The game already looks to have interesting detail to the art.

They seem to be going for something of a painting look to it.

Miyamoto says it is based on impressionist painters.

It seems to be doing a good job - whatever it is, I like it.

Hands on interview from E3: http://e3.gamespot.c...-sword-hands-on

Forget the not-so-elegant swordplay show put on by Shigeru Miyamoto at Nintendo's E3 Press Conference. We just got back from playing the new Legend of Zelda adventure, Skyward Sword, and found the new control system to be quite responsive. The one-to-one sword motion works well, and though it does require a more methodical approach than Hyrulian adventurers might be used to, it is easy to trigger sideways slashes and overhand chops once you get the hang of it. We also took a bunch of Link's new gadgets for a spin, and vanquished our fair share of giant skeletons and aggressive shrubberies.

One thing I am really liking is how bright and vibrant everything seems to be. Nice change of pace from all the brown games we get these days.

Or choose the HUD opacity.

I'm really digging the art-style. It's like a living, breathing cartoon.
